Cabin fever driving you crazy? Here's some fun stuff to do

With Schools closed and social gatherings restricted the government has placed restrictions on movements and are asking individuals who can to work from home. This very unfamiliar to many South Africans and cabin fever may kick in.


Cabin fever is not a disease as such, but a claustrophobic reaction, manifested as extreme irritability and restlessness, that takes place when a person or group ends up in an isolated or solitary location, or stuck indoors in confined quarters for an extended period of time.


Here is a list of things to do while you are at home

· Make your own hand sanitizer

Combine in a bowl,

2/3 cups rubbing alcohol (99.9% isopropyl alcohol)

1/3 cup aloe vera gel

Stir. Decant into a soap or pump bottle

Give it a good shake every now and then

· Read a good book or books (There are some great books online or at your local library)

· Start a new hobby a few ideas like Knitting, writing fiction or poetry, scrap

booking, Sodoku in newspapers or Crossword puzzles

· Do a puzzle or create your own puzzle to solve later

· Play with a cards with family

· Go for a 15min walk to stretch your legs

· Research your family history or create a family tree

· Cut out magazine or newspaper cartoons and comics
