The young people of Learning Alive raised money for the victims of Hurricane Idai in Mozambique at the Mall of Africa
Learners of the Access Programme Pretoria and Alexandra pulled out all the stops to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Idai. The grand fundraising event was hosted by the Mall of Africa who provided full support with set-up, staff and publicity.
Funds raised were donated to leading relief organisation 'Gift of the Givers'
Wear Yellow for Mozambique
The theme - ‘Wear Yellow for Mozambique’ created a blaze of colour. A range of fantastic activities included selling home-made treats, our own popcorn machine, face-painting, arts & crafts, lucky dip, human statues and more. The highlight of the day was a live interview on Mix FM and our awesome dance competition with prizes sponsored by Rocomamas restaurant.
We are proud to announce that we raised over R8000 which will go to essential aid such as medical kits and water sanitation. This will be donated to disaster relief charity Gift of the Givers in a hand-over event.
